Autumn Harbinger

Continuing the trend of doing the same outfit but in a different color…Sorry. I really couldn’t resist. This one just reminds me of Halloween. It’s basically the same as the previous one, except with different shoulders (the ones in the other outfit aren’t dyable). This outfit had a similar outfit with dying, where the same dye would render different pieces different colors, but it was slightly easier to compensate for with red.

Outfit:
Head: Time-worn Headpiece (crimson)
Shoulders: Expeditionary Mantle (crimson)
Back: Cloak of the Autumn Sage (crimson)
Body: Vestments of the Autumn Sage (burgundy)
Staff: Hardened Ash Staff of Fate
Cosmetic pet: black wolf-dog
Warsteed:
Head: Mask of the Autumn Sage’s Bearance (burgundy)
Body: Caparison of the Autumn Sage’s Bearance (burgundy)
Saddle: Saddle of the Autumn Sage’s Bearance
Feet: Tattered Feathers of the Harbinger
Tail: Tail of the Gloaming Autumn

Wraith of Autumn

I simultaneously love and hate this outfit. Love it, because it looks so cool. And hate it, because they don’t have enough shades of green dye to get an exact match.

Seriously, does anyone know the last time they added more dyes to the game? Can we please have more????

Basically, I wanted to do this outfit in ashenslades green. And it looked great. Except the shoulders I used aren’t dyable – they come with a default color, and that’s it. And the way the head dyed, even though it matched the dress pretty closely, the slight difference in green between the head and shoulders and the chest just looked…weird.

In the end, I settled for using olive dye for the head. Again, it didn’t quite match the dress, but honestly it was as good of a fit as the ashenslades green, and it didn’t make the slightly different green of the shoulders stand out. And yes, I did play around with dying the dress dark mossy green instead, to closer match the shoulders, but I couldn’t get rid of the ashenslades. It just works so perfectly.

Also I know I’m using this mask again. I’m actually gonna use it for a couple more outfits coming up. I didn’t necessarily mean to make a bunch of outfits centered around that mask, but I was making a bunch of fall inspired outfits cause I’m tired of winter and want to go back to when it was warmer, and…it just kind of happened.

I tried taking some photos in the day too, but turns out I have a bad habit of making my outfits camouflage way too well. Which is AWESOME for playing, but kind of frustrating for taking pictures. Still, here’s a couple of my faves (sorry for the Mirkwood murkyness):

But yeah, taking pictures during the day was really hard. Basically, unless I was casting a spell, I couldn’t see myself at all (and the above photos have actually been brightened a bit).

Night was much friendlier 😉

Outfit:
Head: Time-worn Headpiece (olive – ashenslades green works too, but the shades don’t QUITE match up with either olive or ashenslades)
Shoulders: Mantle of the Spring Woods (default)
Back: Cloak of the Autumn Sage (belegaer blue)
Body: Vestments of the Autumn Sage (ashenslades green)
Staff: Hardened Ash Staff of Fate
Cosmetic pet: Friendly Deer
Warsteed:
Head: Mask of the Autumn Sage’s Bearance (olive)
Body: Caparison of the Autumn Sage’s Bearance (olive)
Saddle: Saddle of the Autumn Sage’s Bearance
Feet: Tattered Feathers of the Harbinger
Tail: Tail of the Gloaming Autumn

Ice Queen

Okay, I think this is my last winter outfit for a while. Especially since today is the last day of Yule Festival! And since I’ve done a Yule Princess and Snowflake post, I figured this time I’d go straight for Ice.

I actually have a couple color variations for this outfit, but this one is probably my favorite. I say probably because I’m really not sure. I just like all of them.

So anyways, this outfit started because I really wanted to use the snowflake gown, but didn’t think it actually went well enough with the cloak of flurries. Mainly because the cloak is extremely iridescent, whereas the dress is only slightly so. Then I remembered the bridal veil from midsummer festival, and thought to myself, “huh…”

Now, to preface some of the night photos, I’ve been having trouble with my in-game personal lantern. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. It worked fine for my ice-flower light blue outfit, but for some reason it didn’t work for this one, even though I took photos at the same place in game at the same time in game.

Luckily the Northern Lights were out in Forochel, so that helped.

Okay, so that’s the first variation. The second one is an all white outfit:

I like this one a lot too. Also, this one pairs really well with a warsteed, so that’s a bonus:

Just ignore how the dress clips through the horse’s belly. Lord knows that’s what I do.

Like it’s just so elegant and beautiful.

No I don’t see any clipping issues. I have no idea what you’re talking about.

I also experimented a bit with different halters/saddles, and found that it was really flexible.

Using head-piece of the Northern Herald

And, whereas the blue version of this outfit looked really good at night with the Northern Lights, I found the golden tint to the white version makes it go really well with sunsets:

It’s so magical…

Then the last color variation is a black one, mostly because I really wanted to see how the bridal veil would look dyed black. It looks really cool by the way, though this is probably my least favorite outfit of the three:

Actually, I don’t know. This outfit is pretty cool too…

Anywhoooo…..

Outfit:
Head: Ice Flower Crown (moria silver, white, black)
Shoulders: Grimbeorn’s Shouldes (default, white, black)
Back: Bridal Veil (grey, moria silver, black)
Chest: Gala-worthy Gown (steel blue, white, black)
Warsteed:
Head: Head-Piece of the Ice Flower (white, white, black) – head-piece of the Northern Herald is also a good substitute (I used it in some pictures)
Saddle: Yule Gala Saddle, Saddle of the Northern Herald, Yule Gala Saddle
Caparison: Yule Gala Caparison (default, white, black)

Holly Princess

So I didn’t understand why they added yet ANOTHER white rabbit to the yule fest. And then I saw a close up picture of it. And I fell in love.

I mean, look how cute it is!!!!!

Okay, so there is an outfit here too, featuring this year’s new festival cosmetics: the shire holly set. I dyed it Rohan green to match the color of the holly leaves (instead of the lighter, mint-y color it came in).

I even did the warsteed to match!

But seriously, look at the BUNNNYYYYYY

So. Majestic. (And I’m not talking about the dancing elf)

Outfit:
Head: Shire Holly Crown (default)
Shoulders: Mantle of Shire Holly (rohan green)
Back: Cloak of Shire Holly (rohan green)
Chest: Gown of Shire Holly (rohan green)
Held item: Bunch of Holly
Warsteed:
Head: Shire Holly Head Ornament (forest green)
Body: Shire Holly Caparison (forest green)
Saddle: Shire Holly Saddle

Cosmetic Pet: YULE PRINCESS BUNNY

Bunny wabbit…

Lady of Lakes

So normally I don’t pay much attention to dresses, but I had some extra LP so I got some black steel keys, and low and behold what should I find in my lootbox but the dress of the Twilight Caretaker? So I figured, what the heck? I tried it on. Then I tried dying it. Then I fell in love.

Like, the colors you can get with this dress are so amazing, and I loved the feather/scale imagery. This outfit kind of just fell together randomly, but I love it so much.

There’s some clipping issues with the shoulders, but I actually don’t really mind it? the clipping just makes it so that you still see the feathers on the shoulder of the dress, so it’s kind of best of both worlds.

So, when I was making this outfit, I kept thinking of the blue lady in Evendim, Gwindeth. So I decided to pop by and visit her, and funny enough, she’s wearing the EXACT SAME DRESS.

So now I know why I kept thinking about her lol. Also, I love how LOTRO is giving us more cosmetics that we’ve seen NPCs wear. They have some of the coolest outfits, and I think it’s really cool we finally get to wear them.

So anyways, I hung around to dance in a waterfall for a bit. It was fun. And felt VERY Tolkien!

Outfit:
Head: Hooded Mask of the Golden Forest Defender (sea blue)
Shoulders: The Beast-Keeper's Shoulderpads (sea blue)
Back: Cloak of the Dove (sea blue)
Body: Dress of the Twilight Caretaker (turquoise)

Queen of the Moon Moth

Okay, so I’ve been trying to figure out an outfit to go with the Moth cloak for SOOOO long. This summer it finally occurred to me that Galadriel’s gown from the Midsummer Festival looks an awful lot like a luna moth if you dye it bullroarer’s green.

It’s kind of amazing how much the color of the cloak changes depending on the lighting/reflection.

It took me a while to figure out what shoulders I wanted to use, then the obvious choice clicked into place. See, the Shoulders of the Lady’s Power (Champion Lothlorien raid armor) are LITERALLY shaped like butterfly wings. And moth’s look a lot like butterflies. So…yeah…Considering the dress makes it impossible to wear shoes or gloves, I only had to figure out a head piece, and the outfit was done!

It actually took a bit of work to figure out how to dye the warsteed outfit. I ended up using the burgundy dye to get the same sort of dark pink hue that the cloak has.

This also felt like an outfit where it was important to get photos in the day AND at night. Cause moths are often nocturnal, and the luna moth is particularly associated with the moon.

Outfit:
Head: Helm of the Lady's Power (Bullroarer's green)
Shoulders: Shoulders of the Lady's Power (Bullroarer's green)
Back: Cloak of the Moth
Body: Galadriel's Dress (Bullroarer's green)
Staff: Loremaster's Staff of the Third Age (Level 59)
Warsteed:
Head: Head-piece of the Moon Moth (Burgundy)
Body: Caparison of the Moon Moth (Burgundy)

Yule Queen

I’m in finals hell. Officially. I spent 6 hours today studying philosophy, and I had a three hour physics exam last night that killed me. I’m dead now. I’m a ghost typing at a computer. That still needs to study for more tests…

That’s why in all honesty it was probably good that LOTRO was down today, because I really needed to study. On the other hand, I got so absorbed in making note cards for my next exam that I didn’t realize the gym closed at 7 until about 5:30. I hauled ass and got to the gym, which is probably good cause otherwise I would have started to vegetize right where I sat, but it was a rush.

Admittedly I’m a lot more confident in the material than I was a few hours ago, but I also feel ready to crawl into a hole and die. Again. Because in case you forgot, I’m already dead.

Also are we gonna get an extra day of Yule Fest? Because we basically lost an entire day today. Just saying.

I mean, for some of us this is literally all we’ve got going for us right now.

So anyways, the outfit. When I saw the new cosmetics for Yule Fest, I knew I wanted to do something with the crown.

Yeah, I’m too dead to write about creative stuff. I will say this though: the autumn leafmail dress is NOT flattering on most body shapes in game. High Elf worked, but seriously. Grrr…

Yeah. I don’t have much to say. As I’ve already told you, I’m dead.

Outfit:
Head: Ice flower crown (Default/white)
Body: Autumn Leafmail dress (default/white)
Shoulders: The Beast-Keeper's Shoulder Pads (white)
Feet: doesn't matter cause apparently the dress comes with shoes.

Oh yeah and here’s a horse:

And another:

Warsteed:
Head: Head-Piece of the Ice Flower (white/default)
Caparison: Caparison of Eldar Autumn (white)
Saddle: Saddle of Rivendell
Body/Mane: whatevs.
