Silvan Shadows…in snow.

I’ve really been on a mission lately to create outfits surrounding certain leg pieces. This time around it’s the Trousers of the Hopeful Melody – the rune-keeper leggings from the Dol Guldur raid (also available from the classic barterer at any skirmish camp).

Everything about this outfit fell into place almost immediately – except for the shirt. I knew I wanted a sleeveless shirt, and I wanted the only colors to be black and white/silver. I finally decided that the prisoner’s shirt of Isengard was the best fit, although to be honest I’m still not completely sold on it. If you happen upon any other shirts that you think might pair better with the outfit, please let me know in the comments! Wierd as it might sound, but the robe of the Hopeful Melody just doesn’t go well with it imo.

The pet I’m featuring here is the majestic white stag – you can earn it during the anniversary festival for completing one of each of the 10 year cards. Occasionally they’ll pop up in the AH for thousands upon thousands of gold, but honestly it’s not that hard to get on your own, as long as you’re patient…and maybe have the mithril coins or the VIP status for swift travel?

It’s not really the most wintry look, considering it’s light clothing and short sleeves, but for some reason I felt it just looked best in a wintry setting. I mean, how bothered by the cold are elves really?

I ended up choosing the area around Thorin’s Gate in Ered Luin to take pictures – partly because it’s snowy, partly because you’ve got the epic ruins in the background, but mostly because my elf is flat broke and the travel fee there is very minimal.

One thing I didn’t realize right off the start was that outfitting is a rather expensive business. I’ve never been “rich,” in the LOTRO sense, but now basically all my toons have no money left. And I mean no money. Before running some instances yesterday so I could sell off some stuff, I had about 15 silver on my Lore Master (the model here is actually my RK – who is also broke). That’s not even enough to purchase a stable ride to most places!!

To be honest I’m not really in the writing mood, so here’s some fun pics!
